In 2018 I pursued my passion with dogs leaving sales and pharmaceuticals in the dust.
Working with dogs is my passion and I was fortunate to start my career at a dog training facility with Emily and other extremely talented balance trainers. They introduced me to dog training I didn’t even know existed - protection, service, off leash, competition, and behavior modifications. It was an unbelievable experience that shaped my career. During my time here I helped open and run their first dog grooming business.
I enrolled in Animal Behavioral College to get certified as a professional groomer and started working with a total boss of a grooming mentor. She taught me business, consistency, and how to be successful in our industry. Which led to opening my own grooming business in 2020: Strut Your Paws Grooming. We started in our garage attached to our house and like all things in life nothing came easy. My husband, staff, Emily, and myself worked tirelessly to build our business and reputation.
That same year Emily opened her training business and my husband also quit pharmaceuticals to work with dogs. By the end of 2021 we were signing a lease to share a facility in Southampton, NJ. Our facility was one of the best moments in my life. We renovated our space and made our training and grooming facility home.
Our move to Florida was purposeful. After a year in our facility my goals had shifted and I knew my purpose with dogs was just beginning. I wanted to immerse myself in the poodle program Emily had created. We breed, train, raise, and place service poodles for people nationally. Emily, Jay, Jim, and I moved to FL in 2023 which was a final piece to our dreams.
I took a huge step back from grooming in FL. I have a small clientele here so my time can be utilized in the poodle program and learning how to train dogs. I’m forever grateful for our chosen family. We put every part of ourselves into the work we do and I could not be more proud to be a part of this team and the work we provide our community and people/dogs nationally.
